An unforgettable evening of musical magic! Tromsø World is proud to present Daniel Herskedal & Ensemble Noor, in collaboration with Tromsø Jazzklubb and Nordnorsk Jazzsenter, at Amtmandens on October 30, 2025.
Daniel Herskedal, one of Norway’s leading jazz instrumentalists, has already made a significant impact on both the Norwegian and international jazz scenes. With his distinctive sound on tuba and bass trumpet, he takes us on an extraordinary journey through the wonderful landscapes of music. This concert marks a collaboration with Ensemble Noor, where the unique sound of strings and percussion meets Herskedal’s own musicality.
His latest album, “Movements of Air”, received an incredible 5-star rating from iTromsø, and the album has been praised for its depth, openness, and genre-blending expression. In addition to his critically acclaimed solo project “Call for Winter II”, which was recorded in isolation in the Norwegian mountains, Herskedal brings with him a completely new set of rearranged compositions, made specifically for this tour.
The string players of Ensemble Noor – Bergmund Waal Skaslien (viola), Ingrid Marie Willassen (violin), Nikolay Girunyan (cello), and Eyolf Dale (piano), together with the brilliant Helge Andreas Norbakken (percussion), will form a harmonious and powerful ensemble that breathes new life into Herskedal’s timeless compositions.
