The official opening of Tromsø World 2025 will be an evening to remember – where film and live music come together to create a powerful and moving experience. Join us for a special screening of the documentary Efterklang: The Makedonium Band, followed by a live concert with Efterklang, on Thursday, 30 October at Bryggeriet (formerly Studenhuset Driv). One ticket, two incredible experiences!
The evening begins with Efterklang: The Makedonium Band – a 2024 documentary directed by Andreas Johnsen. This heartwarming and adventurous film captures the Danish trio Efterklang’s bold journey to North Macedonia, where they had only one week to collaborate with local Macedonian musicians and perform in front of the striking Makedonium Freedom Monument. The film beautifully showcases the unifying power of music, as the band creates something magical from a place of courage and curiosity, overcoming the unknown with passion and dedication.
Following the screening, get ready for a live performance by Efterklang, who will bring their new music from their upcoming album Things We Have In Common to the stage. Known for their boundary-pushing music and evolving sound, Efterklang’s performance will blend collective spirituality and the human search for belonging in an emotional and captivating way. After two decades of innovation and creativity, Efterklang continues to evolve, and their concert will be a celebration of community, authenticity, and change.
