FLUKTEN (NO)
in collaboration w/ Tromsø Jazzklubben & Nordnorsk Jazzsenter

Bakrommet, Amtmandens
Doors: 16:30
Show: 17:00
The musicians in Flukten are all key figures in the new Norwegian jazz, together they outline a genuine, musical community. This can perhaps be explained by the fact that the band got together when the corona pandemic closed Norway, and that the four musicians then formed a haven for playful jazz.
Flukten is a jazz band with echoes of folk music, rock, rhythm and blues. The quartet consists of musicians from some of the most critically acclaimed bands in Norwegian jazz in recent years, including Gurls, Moskus, Hanna Paulsberg Concept and Wako. Their debut album, Velkommen Håp, won the Spellemann prize for best jazz record in 2021.
At Flukten’s concerts, all spontaneous whims are cultivated and explored. The band makes this promise themselves: “Flukten gives you dirty jazz to dance to, soft and fine-tuned jazz to think about.” It’s music that celebrates life with room for the incredible!”
“The music soars. The escape (flukten) flies. The excitement in the hall gives an encore, and I, for my part, have already started to look forward to the album.” – Arild R. Andersen for Jazz in Norway
The concert is organized in collaboration with Tromsø Jazzklubben and Nordnorsk Jazzsenter.
