GHXST Bunny is one of the most exciting emerging voices on South Africa’s electronic music scene. Based in Cape Town and originally from Butterworth in the Eastern Cape, she has built a reputation for vibrant, genre-fluid DJ sets that blend amapiano, Afro-house, soulful grooves and contemporary dance music into uplifting and deeply engaging experiences.
Her artistic journey was shaped by Johannesburg’s influential music culture, where she first discovered amapiano and immersed herself in the sounds and energy of Soweto’s nightlife. Through the Bridges for Music Talent Development Programme, she developed not only her technical skills as a DJ, but also a broader understanding of cultural production, event management and community building.
Beyond the DJ booth, GHXST Bunny is co-founder of #PrettyGirlsLikeEvents, a platform dedicated to amplifying women and underrepresented voices within music, arts and culture. Through initiatives such as #PrettyGirlsLikeKlubhouse and #PrettyGirlsLikeFilm, she has become an important advocate for a more inclusive cultural landscape.
Recent years have seen her perform at major South African festivals and events including Bazique Festival, Cape Town Electronic Music Festival, Amapiano Fest and Red Bull Unlocked, while also earning recognition through resident DJ competitions and artist development programmes.
At Tromsø World 2026, GHXST Bunny brings the energy, creativity and infectious groove of South Africa’s contemporary club culture north for a set filled with rhythm, connection and dancefloor joy.
