Yugoslav new wave spirit meets modern indie energy
Genres: Indie rock / Yugoslav new wave
Since forming in Ljubljana in 2020, Lelee has quickly established itself as one of the standout names on the contemporary Balkan indie scene. The trio channels the restless spirit of Yugoslav new wave, the looseness of 90s slacker rock and the melodic instincts of modern indie into something vibrant, immediate and entirely their own.
Comprised of Jelena Rusjan, Damjan Manevski and Miha Konrad, Lelee creates songs filled with hook-heavy refrains, driving guitars and emotional honesty — balancing youthful urgency with a warm Adriatic sense of playfulness and charm. Their music moves effortlessly between jangling indie rock, post-punk energy and melodic alternative pop, always carried by an infectious live spirit.
Following the acclaimed debut Čuka bije pumpa, the band expanded its sound further on the 2024 album Mora malo u crveno — a record full of dynamic arrangements, emotional resonance and explosive guitar interplay. With more than 100 concerts behind them, Lelee has developed into a razor-sharp live band known for turning every venue into a joyful, sweat-soaked celebration.
Their growing reputation has brought them to festivals and showcase stages across Europe, including Tallinn Music Week, Waves Vienna, INmusic and MENT Ljubljana, while recent singles have also been highlighted by KEXP.
At Tromsø World 2026, Lelee brings a burst of Balkan indie energy north — melodic, driving and made for dancing, shouting and singing along.
